Thanks a lot Michele, it’s so nice of you to stop by and comment. I love to hear the feedback (good and bad), but in this case I’ll take the fantastic compliment :).
She would be pleased with how beautifully you captured her. Also, makes me think of Marion Cotillard, and a costume from the movie “The Cell”.
Yes, it does remind me of Marion Cotillard, I did not realize that until you mentioned it. And bang on with the reference to the movie “The Cell”. Its amazing what each of us can draw from a photography, we all have different interpretations. Thank you master chef for your comment.
She is beautiful. Wonderful eye in catching her essence.
Thank you very much, she had a very captivating look. I was drawn right in as I walked by.
A stunning portrait Mark.. You must have been close for this one 🙂 What is the girl wearing???
Thank you Paula 🙂 Yes, I was very close to her, a few feet I would say. She was wearing balloons, very interesting to say the least. It’s part of the reason I was attracted to her as I was walking by.
🙂 What colour were the ballons?
They were black
Let’s hope Edvard Scissorhands doesn’t show up and start touching her 😀
That is very funny! That would not be good at all. Thank you for coming by again, I really appreciate it.
You have quality photos in your blog, so stopping by here is my pleasure 🙂
Wonderful shot. And an interesting costume. Balloons you say? Very intricate.
Why thank you for the comment. A very interesting balloon dress indeed. It must have taken a long time to get it just right :).
Great emotive study of humanity.

What a stunning composition! Her shoulders are so beautifully sculptured, at one with the violin and surrounding dress. A beautiful shot!
Hi Patti, thank you so very much. I have a few more shots of this performer and wasn’t sure which to use. I finally decided on this one and glad I did. Have a great night.
Very interesting perspective on this one Mark. Cannot imagine what the costume is all about ! Love that you only captured part of the violin
Hi Tina. I can’t imagine she was very comfortable wearing black balloons all day but she seemed to suit the dress. Thank you very much for your wonderful comment.
Mark, there are times when we work and recognize an image that has to be made. It has to be made because we recognize that the subject reflects more about us than we could understand. This photo, is one of those times. I recognize the artist, the sensitivity that is a part of you…..
10:1 everyone else does also…… Beautiful image……

This is a really great shot. Not something that was previously set up? Looking at the tags it does say street photography – so random shot?
Great work 🙂
Thank you so much. This photo has been with me for a while and I was hesitant to post but since posting it’s become one of my favourites. Got this one while wondering through a street festival – no set up.
Makes it doubly awesome.. lol

A lovely street image. You really captured the violinist so alive and agile. And the tones of this black and white photo are very rich with a full tonal range.
Thank you so much for this wonderful comment. I can’t say enough how much I’ve enjoyed reading your blog since I discovered it a couple of weeks ago. You have so many great posts, so insightful and I’ve been exposed to some great photography blogs through your posts. Thanks again for taking time out of your busy day to comment.
And thank you for these kind words. You have quite a blog yourself and I will spend time perusing your post over the next couple of weeks.

Great eye and perspective 🙂 Expressive and up close 🙂
Hello and thanks for your fantastic compliment. I was very close, she was a real magnet, great expression to try and capture. Hope to speak to you again. All the best.
What an expression; that look in her eye, and I do like the foreshortening of her upper body in this wide angle close up.
Thank you so much for your comment. I really appreciate your insight and interpretation of this image. Hope to speak soon. Cheers
Stunning photo, Mark. Fabulous composition and beautiful tonal range. Very special.
Thank you kindly Simon! Really appreciate you stopping by and taking the time to comment. All the best Mark.

I love your work. But what in the world is she wearing?
Thank you kindly Emilio. She is wearing a dress made out of balloons! I think she wears them quite well don’t you?
I’m not even going to ask!
I love this! Her casually looking away gives her so much attitude.
Hi Shane. 1st let me say thanks for stopping by. 2nd, thanks so very much for this comment. She had such a strong aura/presence, a very compelling spirit. Have a great day.
I think this is my favourite so far, glorious perspective and all those curves and circles – just brilliant!
I too find this to be one of my favourites so I’m so glad you feel the same.
I have to say that image has stayed in my mind all day, I wish I still had a gallery, I would order a print of it!
That is so incredibly nice of you to say that. I’m really flattered and blushing. To have someone want a print is huge a compliment, thank you so much. And funny you mention this because I’ve just started printing some work myself and thinking of printing this and framing for my home.
You should it’s fabulous!
